Robert “Bob” Gene Brower, age 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home April 5, 2022. He was born in Springfield on September 7, 1951, to Howard and Dorothy Brower. He graduated from high school in 1969 and then worked for 40 years at Springfield Tire Exchange as a trusted tire salesman and eventually became the owner, where he retired on May 9, 2011. He was united in marriage to Betty Wright on September 18, 1981, in Miami, Oklahoma.
He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard as a rifle expert. He was also a member of Travelers Protective Association (TPA). His interests included sailing, RV camping, traveling, the love of the ocean, and was an avid dog and bird lover.
He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Dorothy Brower. He is survived by his wife Betty Brower; son Miles “Andy” Brower (Wendi); stepson Clifton Kelley Jr. (Lindsay); grandchildren Meg Brower and Mitchell Brower; brother John Brower (Judy); sister Anne Blevins (Keith); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Tuesday April 12, 2022, 2:00-4:00 pm. The family ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Ozark Food Harvest, Southwest Humane Society, and Convoy of Hope.
