Robert “Bob” Dale Presley, Sr. 88, of Springfield, MO, passed away on April 1st, 2018 at Birch Point Rehabilitation Center. Bob was born on January 18, 1930 in Crocker, MO to Wilburn and Opal Presley. He attended Crocker High School and graduated in the class of 1949. He moved to Fairbanks, Alaska to work for the railroad. After his time in Alaska, he moved to Washington state to work for a nuclear power plant. Bob also spent serval years as a graphic artist. Upon his return home, he married the love of his life, Helen Katheryn Harrison, “Katy” on May 13, 1950. He was a member of the Assembly of God church. He enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, gardening, and especially fishing and coin hunting. He also enjoyed attending the Stain Glass theater plays and was a member of KIT group at Jefferson Baptist Church. Bob had a strong love for Christ and for his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn & Opal Presley; one brother, Charles E. Presley; one sister, Wanda L. McClendon; one granddaughter, Courtney Presley; and his wife, Helen “Katy” Presley.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Presley, Jr. (& Della); Ronald M. Presley (& Marty); Randal S. Presley (& Amber); and Michelle R. Johnson (& Stanley); 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one due this October; a sister, Donna Hill (& Bill); a sister-in-law, Barbara Presley; 2 nephews, Kevin McClendon and David Presley; a niece, Phylis Vineyard; his fishing buddies, John McClendon, Walter Myers, and friend Luvy Forrester; and his dog, Luvy.
There will be a visitation on April 5th, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. The funeral service will follow visitation at 1:00 PM with Rev. Craig Fields officiating. The interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.
