Robert Frank “Bob” Mitchell, 88, of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. He was born in Seligman, MO on August 22, 1929 to Earl and Lucy Mitchell.
Bob served in the US Marine Corps, 1st Marine Corp Division, during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Sue Mitchell; his parents; son, Gary; sister, Bonnie and brother, Bill.
He is survived by his eldest son, Robert “Terry” Mitchell & wife Linda; grandsons, Bryan, Mike (Jessica), Chance (Lauren) and Travis. He was blessed with six great grandchildren who lovingly call him “Papa Bob”.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 11:30-12:30 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, with burial to follow at 1:00 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
