Bob McGee was joyfully welcomed home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday September 12 with his wife Barbara, sons Bobby and David, daughter Denise and daughters-in-law Debbie and Paula at his side. Family and friends meant everything to Bob and his spirit was greatly lifted to have so many of them around him during his past few days. He was blessed with grandsons Kyle, William and Michael, two beautiful granddaughters Megan and Anna and granddaughter in-law Kara. Bob also leaves behind his little sis Janie and little brother Lee Roy, and in-laws June, Gary, Jan and May. He loved them all dearly.
Bob traveled across the Midwest and south Texas as salesman for more than 40 years spending his alone time in the car singing songs with the amazing voice he routinely blessed us all with. He made friends everywhere he went….really, everywhere. His passions included; time on his farm, especially on his tractor, hunting, horses, boating, gardening, singing AND driving “Cutie Pie” his 1929 Model A. While these things brought him pleasure they were merely instruments for making more friends and loving his family. Bob served as President Windcrest Optimist Club, President Alamo Area Square & Round Dance Assoc, Leader for San An Centars 4-H Horse Club, was an active member of the Alamo A Model A Club.
Since it was his big heart that finally gave out, the family has asked friends to make donations in Bob’s honor to the ” American Heart Association” in lieu of flowers.
He will be laid to rest beside his parents at Brighton Cemetery, Brighton Missouri near his family farm on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
