May 3rd, 1934- May 15th, 2022
Bob lived a long happy life and passed peacefully in his sleep at his home from natural causes on Sunday May 15, 2022, at the age of 88. Bob was born May 3rd, 1934, in Mason City, Iowa. He was the only child of Renne and Sylvia Rankin. Bob didn’t grow up in a large family, but he sure dedicated his life to the family he created.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Nancy Rankin, his 2 children Tracy Maxfield and Scott Rankin, his daughter in law Alejandra Rankin, and his 3 grandchildren Andrew Maxfield, Madison Turner, and Kenlee Rankin.
Soon after Bob graduated high school in Monrovia, California he joined the U.S. Army where he served 3 years. Bob married Nancy February 14th, 1960, and they started their beautiful family soon after. Bob had various jobs, but the one that made a difference in his life was John Deere. He built a 25-year carrier where he won various awards and retired from John Deere at the age of 55.
Bob was a very hardworking, creative, and well-traveled man: he spent a lot of time traveling the Midwest for work, having traveled to 16 different countries, but his life wasn’t limited to that. He had many hobbies, including sculpting, and fishing was an important part of his life. But most importantly, he loved sending time with his family and friends.
