1967 – 2025
Robin Ryan Crain, 58, of Springfield, Missouri, died at home surrounded by loved ones on August 21, 2025.
Beloved by all who knew her, Robin touched countless lives. Her light shined brighter than the sun’s, and her presence could fill any room.
Robin was born in Springfield in 1967 to parents Shirley and Charles Ryan. She attended Parkview High School and graduated from OTC School of Nursing, as an LPN. Nursing came naturally to her—she was always the person to call in a medical emergency. Her quick thinking and selfless actions helped save several lives.
While working in the medical field, Robin met the love of her life, Christopher Crain. It was love at first sight— Chris thought Robin was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, from the moment he met her. They were married on June 12, 1999, and never stopped loving one another.
Robin’s children were the greatest joy of her life. Jordan was born in 2000, and Kendall in 2004. Robin said that she never wanted children until she met Chris, and then immediately changed her mind. When their children both ended up with Chris’ light hair and fair complexion, she swore that her grandchildren would inherit her darker hair and that natural tan.
Robin fearlessly battled cancer for nine years, determined to watch her children grow and to be there to support them. She will always be remembered for her fiery, tenacious spirit and her generous heart.
She also had the most colorful vocabulary—one that could, at times, put even a sailor to shame. Her wit and humor brought people together, and she was fiercely loyal to her family and friends.
No one loved Halloween and leopard print more than Robin, and her home was always full of animals she adored.
We could not have been blessed with a better mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Robin will be missed every day, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Robin is survived by her husband, Christopher Crain; her children, Jordan and Kendall Crain; her mother, Shirley Ryan; her brothers Joseph and John Ryan; her sisters Kelly Schrieber and Kitty Siegal; and her niece and nephew Emily and Ben Roberts.
