Rodney “Rod” Dean Egger, 71, of Springfield, Mo. Went to be with his Lord & Savior on May 19, 2025, after battling a long illness in the hospital. He was born to Bob & Betty Egger on July 7, 1953. He had two siblings, Pam and Vicki. His father was Baptist minister, and the family traveled all over the states “Rod” often spoke of the many schools he attended and about making new friends along the way. Rod loved sports and his favorite baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved fishing, and he cared so much for animals, he took great pride to insure that the animals would not go unattended or hungry.
Rod loved his family; he always watched out for others and would take care of their needs before his own. He was a comedian and loved to joke. He could compose a joke on the spot to make people laugh, He kept his faith in God and knew that one day he would go to Heaven to be with his Lord. Throughout his illness, he often spoke of Heaven, and it was clear to all who knew him that he was ready and wanted his family to be there someday. He leaves behind many friends, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with his wife Debbie of 51 years and 2 son Robert & Michael “Mike”. He will be greatly missed on this earth, but he has reached his heavenly home.
