Rodney Joe Hale, son of Orlan and Evelyn (Turner) Hale, was born March 14th, 1971, and departed this life on September 10th, 2024, at Cox South in Springfield after a short illness. At the time of his death, he was 53 years and 5 months of age.
Rodney was born at Cox in Springfield, Missouri, and attended Bolivar school, and later cosmetology school, where he graduated with a hairdresser license. He grew up in Bolivar and later moved to Springfield, where he raised his son.
Rodney was a phenomenal hairdresser and spent nearly 30 years building and maintaining a successful salon. He was a man of great wit, humor, and charm, known for being able to brighten anyone’s day. His customers, friends, and family loved him for who he was. He was a great friend and listener, with a generous spirit. He was also a great cook. Rodney loved treating his friends and family and his favorite memory was taking the family to Gulf Shores, Alabama. He also loved all dogs but especially his own, Zippy and Zola. Rodney had a deep love for children, both his own and all others. He always made everyone around him feel included, respected, and valued.
Rodney’s greatest pride and joy in life was his son, Turner, who will carry on his father’s legacy with the lessons and memories shared between them.
Rodney is preceded in death by his dad, Orlan, his brother, Randy, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by his son Turner Hale, of Springfield, his mother, Evelyn Hale of Bolivar, his sisters Donna Neal of Bolivar, and Rhonda Jasper of Bolivar, his brother, Rick and Pam Hale of Concordia, Missouri, his nieces and nephews, Ashley, Austin, Chris, Joey, Kyle, Heather, Tyler, Tauri, Brock, and Brooke. Rodney also leaves behind many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly.
A visitation for Rodney will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Missouri. A funeral service will take place for Rodney on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Pitts Chapel. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Buffalo, Missouri.
