Ronald “Ron” Eugene Johnson, age 73, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Cox Medical Center South. He was born August 24, 1937, in Peoria, Ill, to Marveline (Robertson) Johnson.
He served in the United States Navy, was a former police officer of Richton Park, Ill., and was the Security Coordinator for Greene County Libraries.
He was also a member of the Fresh Heart Foursquare Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Ron is survived by his wife of 28 years, Elaine Johnson, Springfield, MO.; Ronald Jr.’s mother, Evelyn Johnson; son, Ronald Johnson, Jr.; step-children, Mark Hood and Andrea Boss; six step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial services will be Friday, April 8, at 1:00 P.M. in Fresh Heart Foursquare Church, 5257 N. Farm Road 151, Springfield, MO 65803.
