Rosella Marie McLaughlin, age 85, of Springfield, passed away at her residence on November 7, 2023. Rosella was born to Earl and Violet (Bossing) Baker on March 29, 1938, in Springfield, Missouri. Rosella was united in marriage to Paul Ross McLaughlin on February 4, 1957, in Springfield. The couple was blessed with four children, Paul, Phillip, David, and Patrick.
Rosella was a devoted homemaker and mother. Given her husband’s lengthy and honorable career in the military, the family had to relocate several times. Rosella always ensured that her children grew up in a loving and supportive home, regardless of their location. After Paul’s retirement from the military and 3M, the couple enjoyed many special years of traveling in their RV. Their favorite destinations included the Branson area, Stockton Lake, and Pomme de Terre Lake. Rosella loved the outdoors, especially tending to her beautiful flower gardens on warm sunny days. She also liked to read, knit, and crochet. Over the years, Rosella lovingly handcrafted many gifts for her family and friends. She loved country music and had a particular fondness for her favorite singer, Kenny Rogers. Rosella was an avid college football fan with the Oklahoma State Cowboys being her favorite team. When not watching college football, Rosella liked to watch her favorite golf pro, Tiger Woods. Of all her pastimes and interests, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her Miniature Schnauzers Sugar and Easy.
Rosella Marie McLaughlin was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Violet Baker; husband, Paul McLaughlin; son, Patrick McLaughlin, brother, Kenny Baker; and sister, Helen House. She is survived by son, Paul McLaughlin and his wife, Belinda; son, Phillip McLaughlin; son, David McLaughlin; grandchildren, Josh, Colten, and Dylan McLaughlin; and brother, Earl Baker, Jr.
A visitation for Rosella will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (I-63-2).
