Rosemary Smith (Bramwell) was born Wednesday, September 15, 1937 at Windyville, Mo in Dallas County. She was the third child of Thalmon & Beulah (Lemons) Bramwell & departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in Springfield, Mo. at the age of 87.
Rosemary professed her faith and hope of eternal life in Christ when she was 13 years of age at a revival at Lone Rock Church, near Windyville, Mo. She was baptized shortly after in Greasy Creek near Windyville, Mo. Rosemary loved to read and memorize verses from the bible. She had many favorites that gave her strength and courage.
Rosemary attended & graduated from Windyville High School in 1955. After graduation from high school she attended Draughon Business College in Springfield, Mo. She worked for several years before her children were born and after they were grown as a Secretary. She was a fast and accurate typist and also typed up the weekly bulletin for several churches she attended over the years.
Rosemary was united in marriage to Benny Joe Smith, January 31, 1959 at Fort Benning, Ga. by Chaplain Lincoln Barr. To this union 3 sons were born. Her main concern and desire in life was to devote her self to being a good mother and homemaker. She also had a love for music and playing the piano. John Denver was one of her favorite artists. She was known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and loved them all very much.
Rosemary is survived by her 3 sons, Joe (Anna) Smith, Springfield, Mo., Chris (Susan) Smith, Springfield, Mo. and Tim (Lora) Smith, Springfield, Mo. She is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, Rowan Smith, Ashley Smith, Brittany Smith, and Ethan Smith. Also 6 great grandchildren, Elaina, Avalyn Rose, Riley, Carly, Izabel and Charlotte; as well as brothers Dennis (Sandy) Bramwell of Kansas City, KS and Dennie (Joan) Bramwell of Windyville, Mo. and sister-in-law Janice Bramwell of Buffalo, Mo.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Thalmon & Beulah Bramwell, her husband of 51 years, Ben Smith, her Sister Noma Louise (Cecil) Cline of Buffalo, Mo. and her brother Dewey Bramwell of Buffalo, Mo.
The family wants to thank the staff at BirchPointe Health & Rehab and Intrepid Hospice for their care and compassion over the past several months.
A memorial service for Rosemary will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on Friday, November 22, 2:00-4:00 PM.
