Roy (Douglas) Corbett 68, Springfield, MO. passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in his home, after a long illness. He was born on Sunday, September 13, 1953, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Le Roy and Margaret (Bond) Corbett. He attended North Mahaska High School, graduating with the class of 1971. He then attended North Central University and Central Bible College, graduating in 1976. On April 7, 1972, he married the love of his life, Beverly Jean Wiksell, in New Sharon, Iowa. He was an ordained minister and missionary with the Assemblies of God Church, retiring January 23, 2020, afrer 46 years of service. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, golf, and watching sports.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Beverly. He is survived by his three daughters: Heather (Corbett) Bixler and her husband, Alan Bixler, Heidi (Corbett) Giles and her husband, Matt Giles, and Holly (Corbett) Abney and her husband, Shane Abney, ten grandchildren: Sierra Elmore, Hunter Bixler, Isaiah Giles, Annika Giles, Sean Giles, Shiloh Giles, Jaz Giles, Joseph Giles, Haven Giles, and Silver Abney. Coming in April, 2022, Baby Elmore. He is also survived by his two sisters: Crystal Anderson and Peggy Comstock, and his brother: Dave Corbett.
