It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruby Bolen Woods, aged 96, on June 12, 2025, in Bolivar, Missouri. Born on September 20, 1928, in Dunnegan, Missouri, Ruby was a beloved sister, a dedicated professional, a cherished member of her community, and a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church.
Ruby graduated from high school and devoted her career as a Medical Insurance Biller, serving countless individuals and families with care and diligence. Her contributions to the medical field were marked not only by her expertise but also by her empathy and understanding of those she served.
Even though Ruby had no children of her own she had a heart for children, being a foster grandparent with the Bolivar School system for over 16 years. She loved playing cards and dominos with friends and family.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Columbus and Helen (Hamor) Bolen; two brothers: Frank and Roy Bolen; and three sisters: Viola Ellis, Mary Jacob, and Dorothy Bixler.
Ruby is survived by her sister Betty Lewis, the bond they shared brought joy and warmth to their lives, and Betty will forever cherish the memories of their time together. Also surviving is numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In honoring Ruby’s life, family and friends will gather for a funeral service in her memory Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Pitts Chapel. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Celebrating the remarkable woman she was, burial will follow at Lindley Prairie Cemetery Bear Creek, MO, where Ruby will be laid to rest in a place she held dear. Ruby Bolen Woods will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness, and the love she shared with those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bolivar United Methodist Church in Ruby’s memory.

Ruby was a very dear friend to me. I am going to miss our morning coffee time, where we drank coffee, talked and laughed about everything. When my health wouldn't let me do much, Ruby was always there to help. I loved her and will miss her deeply. Rest now Ruby.❤️
