Russel L. Stewart of Springfield passed away July 24, 2018 at the age of 88.
Russel was born November 2, 1929 in Mansfield, MO to Ruben and Elsie Stewart. Russel graduated high school at 17 and traveled to Chicago to go to auto mechanic's school. Russel was very proud of having served his country as a Marine during the Korean War. He was the founder of Stewart Auto Service and was a longtime member of High Street Baptist Church.
Russel was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Inabell Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Wilma, his son Norman Stewart (Debbie) and his daughter Marilyn Tracy; his grandchildren Amy Pyle (Daniel) Eric Tracy, Stephen Stewart (Nicole) Melissa Tracy (Ancel Buff) ; 6 great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Services will be at 12:30 pm Friday, July 27, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with a visitation from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
