Sammy Len Stephens of Bolivar, MO, went home to the Lord on December 17, 2022.  Sammy was the youngest of four children of Samuel Booker and Willie Floy (Bryant) Stephens.  He was born March 23, 1949, in Aldrich, MO.  He graduated from Marion C. Early High School Morrisville, MO.  He married the love of his life Barbara Mundy, August 11, 1967.

          Sammy is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Harold Lee Stephens, a sister Maxine Stephens; and his treasured and beloved cocker spaniel, Blackie.

          Sammy is survived by his wife of 55 years Barbara; his sister Helen Graves of Morrisville, MO; his sons and their spouses: Sam and Barb Stephens of Brighton, MO, and Bob and Shara Stephens of Bolivar, MO. He was also blessed with five grandchildren and their spouses: Derrik and Tamika Stephens, Gabrielle and Kaleb Twyman, Seth Stephens, Kimber Stephens, and Barrett Stephens.  He was also blessed with four great grandchildren: Wayne and Madalynn Twyman, and Benjamin and Lincoln Stephens; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins. 

          Sammy worked at Lily Tulip in Springfield, MO, before joining the Missouri Department of Transportation in 1972.  He worked there until his retirement in 2007.  He loved spending time with his grand kids and great grand kids, attending plays, swim meets, gymnastics meets, baseball and basketball games, and driving around the farm with them.  He was loved and will be deeply missed by all.
