Scott Anthony Rothrock, husband, father, son, and brother, was born May 21, 1983, and departed this life on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the age of 35. Scott is survived by and will forever be remembered by his wife and perfect companion Lindsey, and their precious daughters Jolee and Grace, by his loving parents Peter and Debra Rothrock, and by his faithful brother Jeff Rothrock. Scott will also be forever remembered by his father-and-mother-in-law Gary and Joni Turner, his brother-and-sister-in-law Kelly and Melissa Turner and their children – his nephews – Hudson and Marshall, as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, brothers and sisters in Christ, and many dear friends and loved ones. Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert H. & Helen V. Rothrock, and James and Fern Timmermann.
While they were dating Scott was led to the Lord by Lindsey and obeyed the Gospel of Jesus Christ on July 26, 2006. From that point on, Scott dedicated himself and his family to the love and service of the Lord and His Church. Scott was diligent in study and committed to raising his family and his daughters in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. He selflessly served the Lord, his family, and his Christian brothers and sisters with every opportunity he had.
Scott was a courageous cancer-survivor following a diagnosis in 1999. With the help of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and his family and friends, he bravely battled to overcome the disease and used his experience to help and encourage others in similar situations. Scott served as a volunteer for Ronald McDonald House Charities, Relay for Life, KTTS County Cares St. Jude Radiothon, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks.
With his bachelor’s degree in industrial management and an MBA from Missouri State University as well as a master’s degree in supply chain management from Penn State University, Scott was successful and well-respected in business. His professional expertise led him to experiences with several successful companies including most recently the Director of Operations for Red Monkey Foods in Springfield, Missouri.
Scott loved history and baseball, but as some people have hobbies, Scott and Lindsey had each other and their girls. Scott made sure that his girls really got to enjoy life and was dedicated to giving them many experiences and special memories to look back on. Scott and Lindsey both love sports and more than ever when it was their own girls getting to participate. Watching his daughter Jolee play basketball brought him more joy than he ever thought it could.
Scott will be lovingly remembered for his faithfulness, his stability, and his conviction. He will be remembered for his commitment to the Lord, his devotion to Lindsey – the love of his life, and his enduring love for his beautiful daughters. He will be missed and loved by many family, friends, and loved ones.
