Shawn Micheal Martinez, age 37, of Branson, MO, passed away on October 16, 2022. He was born July 17, 1985, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO, to Denise Neal. Shawn attended school in Bolivar and then enlisted in the US Marine Corps on June 15, 2004. He Proudly served his country and was deployed for combat in the Iraqi War in 2005. He was honorably discharged from the Marines on June 14, 2008.
Shawn grew up with a love for sports and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. He was a season ticket holder for the Chiefs and was at every home game.
Shawn was a loving and devoted son, grandson, brother, and friend. He had the unique ability to make everyone he came in contact with feel like they were the most important person in the room.
Shawn is preceded in death by his grandfather Billy Dale Neal; step grandmother Madge Larkin; and Uncle Artie Neal.
Shawn is survived by his parents Denise Neal Larkin and Greg of Bolivar, MO; stepfather Jamie Swoboda of Lebanon, MO; Grandmother Ruth Neal of Bolivar, MO; siblings: Chance and Kody Swoboda of Bolivar, MO, Christy Olson and husband Shawn of Neosho, MO; nephews: Lukas, Gregory, and Ethan; honorary sister Emily Hagar and husband Josh; nieces and nephews: Gracie, Tyler, Gabriel, Sunnie, and Daisie of Branson, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 21, 2022, at Pitts Chapel with Kristen Alford officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery: 5201 S.
