Shirley Ann Palmer, daughter of Albert and Linda Stenzel, was born May 14, 1935 in Marion, Kansas, and departed from this life on May 6, 2025. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, and her brother Archie and his wife Maryellen.
Shirley was united in marriage to Lee Roy Palmer on March 2, 1955. To this union were born two daughters. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Chapel of Peace.
She was employed with the Springfield Public Schools and retired after 29 years.
Shirley is survived by her two children; Linda and David Willbanks, and Brenda and Steve Lockling, all of Springfield. Also surviving are three grandchildren; James Hostetler and wife Nicole of Republic, MO, Mariann and Matt Brooks of Springfield, MO, Stephen and Meryl Lockling of Topeka, Kansas. four great-grandchildren; Ella Maye Hostetler, Holly Anne Hostetler, Olivia Rahe Lockling, and Norah Adaline Lockling, and one sister; Pyhllis Kreutziger and husband Ralph.
There will be no service. The body has been cremated under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Shirley’s final resting place will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
