Steeler “Stee” Daulton Seaburn was born January 31, 1994 in Springfield, MO, to Genny (Seaburn) & Lesley Sexton III. He was tragically taken from this world on Friday, April 6, 2012.
Steeler attended school pre-K through sixth at Christian Schools of Springfield where he built friendships that lasted his lifetime. Steeler participated in multiple sports through the Willard Park Board and Willard Mighty Mites programs. In 2002, he joined the Willard Youth Wrestling Club where he started his wrestling career. His seventh grade year he began attending Willard Public Schools, joining football, golf, track & of course, wrestling.
Steeler was an employee at Springfield Remanufacturing, a referee for the Mighty Mites football program, and he also worked on the family farm, raising cattle. He was actively involved in the Willard Youth Wrestling program where he volunteered to train younger wrestlers.
He reached the state level wrestling tournament 3 out of the 4 years of his high school career, placing 5th his junior year and 3rd during the recent state competition his senior year. Throughout his athletic career, some of his accomplishments were two time state placer, first at the holiday tournament, team MVP and Captain of the wrestling team. He had recently received several scholarship opportunities and was planning to attend college in the fall on a wrestling scholarship. Steeler was a senior in the Willard High School Class of 2012. He was a bright star in too many lives to mention, leaving behind a multitude of friends and family. He was a friend to all, a brother to many, and his time with us was literally, lived out loud and to the fullest. His quick smile will not be erased from the memory of those who loved him and the impact of his life will be felt by many in important and lingering ways.
Services will include a visitation on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m., in Evergreen Church. The funeral will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 2 p.m., also to be held in Evergreen Church, with a graveside service immediately following in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Steeler is survived by his parents, Genny (Seaburn) and Lesley Sexton of Springfield, one step-brother, Jared Sexton of Lebanon, maternal grandfather Eugene Seaburn of Springfield and paternal grandparents, Mike and Barbara Sexton of Vernon, MI. Surviving aunts and uncles, Lori (Seaburn) and John Smart of Willard, Nell (Seaburn) and Erick Huff of Springfield, Jim and Shawn Aldrich of Owosso, MI Steve and Amy Sexton also of Owosso, MI; Ray and Heather Higgins of Algonquin, IL and David Sexton of Vernon, MI. Maternal cousins Britain and Amy (Hamilton) Seaburn and “niece” Kinley, DuPont, WA, Jordan Seaburn, Kansas City, Austyn-Jade (Fieker) and Kris Callison, Springfield, Dylan Fieker and Christian Smart, Willard. Paternal cousins include Britney and Tyler Aldrich, Stevie and Hannah Sexton, Brendan and Lexie Sexton, all of MI and Meghan and Matthew Higgins of IL.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations and contributions be made to the Steeler Seaburn Memorial Scholarship Fund at Freedom Bank of Willard.
