Susan Annette Henson was born on Wednesday February 9, 1960, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Jack and Sue Sego. Susan passed on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, from complications of lung cancer with her loving husband and constant companion Delbert by her side.
On October 4, 1976, Susan married James Hahn and to this union four beautiful, rambunctious, loving children were born, Jason Michael, Jayme Sue, Aaron Shane, and Robert Dakota who survive her. Her perfect and funny Grandchildren, Jason Jr., Jesse, Johannah, Alice, London, and Braxton, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive. Susan’s mischievous, co-conspirators, yet loving siblings Jackie Ross, Lori Hughes, Randy Sego, and Dustin Wilmes survive their loving sister. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Jack Sego and Sue Wilmes and nephew Troy Wood, and brother-in-law Sam Ross.
Susan worked in health care most of her work life, providing excellent care for her patients. She found joy in her work by caring for those in need and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. In 2017, Susan retired to become a full-time housewife to Del and to spend time fishing.
Susan met Del while working at Primrose Nursing Facility. On September 2, 2000, they became one in marriage at Macedonia Baptist Church. Even though they had no children, her family became his and his family became hers. Susan loved fishing, the Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees, and watching General Hospital every single day, but most of all she looked forward to her & Del’s daily afternoon drives.
Others left to mourn Susan are her Step-Dad Jim Wilmes, Son-in-law Lester Gibson, Daughter-in-law April Hahn, Ashley Ellis, James Hahn, and good friend Julie Berryhill, along with the Henson, Stapp, Brown, Matthews and Berry Families, friends Becky Jones, Momma Rose Moore, Nurse Erin of Mercy Oncology Infusion, and the “white hair ladies” at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Susan’s family would like to Thank Dr. Balasundrum, Mercy Oncology, Mercy AntiCoagulant Services and everyone who traveled on her cancer journey with her and Del.
