Susan Leslie Humbard (King) who her grandbabies called (MaMaw) passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 5th 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Susan was born on July 4, 1966 in Springfield, Missouri to Fred and Paula King who preceded her in death. Susan’s most important job was raising her two children Jordan and Emily Worley in Republic, Missouri. She loved life and loved her family and friends fiercely especially her 7 grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud MaMaw. Susan loved life on the lake driving her boat, traveling, going to concerts, lounging on the beach, playing board games and spending time with her family and many friends.
Susan graduated from Missouri State University in 1993 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and held Certifications as a QPA-Qualified Pension Administrator, APR-Accredited Pension Representative and ERPA-Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent.
She was co-owner of a third-party administration company from 1998 to 2011 then went on to found her own company, Advanced Plan Designs in 2011 thru the present. Susan was very passionate about designing custom retirement plans for countless business owners and employees so they would be prepared for retirement.
Susan loved volunteering in the community, she was a member of the Springfield Metro Rotary serving as Director 2015-2016 and Treasurer 2016-2018. She was also named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation. She spent many hours working at the HABIT Store at McGregor School and Rock N Ribs. She was also a past Board member and past Vice-President of the Springfield Queen City Sertoma Club, past Board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, past Board member of the Springfield Ballet and past Board member and president of the American Society of Women Accountants.
She is survived by her husband Gregory Humbard, two children: Jordan and Abbey Worley (wife) of Nixa; and Emily Worley and Derick Moore (fiancé) of Springfield. One brother, Ben King and Paige (wife); Niece: Saylor King; four step-children: Courtney Humbard, Zachary Humbard, Hunter Humbard and Brynlie Humbard; ten grandchildren: Layla, Jensen, Brecken, Hudsen, Marcella, Cora, Jordan, Preslee, Johnathan and Sylus with another on the way; two Aunts: Linda Hodges of St. Louis, MO; and Cindy Slentz and Bob (husband) of Republic, MO and many cousins.
The service will be held at the Greenlawn Funeral Home East at 3540 E. Seminole Springfield, MO on Friday October 15, 2021. Visitation will be 11-1 with the service following. Private graveside for family at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
