Beverly Sue “Susie” Atkinson (Hillenburg), born September 3rd, 1946, went to be with our Heavenly Father April 26th.
Susie was born to Earl and Etta Mae Hillenburg, Pleasant Hope, MO.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Atkinson; her father Earl Hillenburg, and her mother, Etta Mae Hillenburg, and her sister Dorothy of Pleasant Hope, MO.
She is survived by her son, Brian Sutherland of Fair Grove, MO, and his wife Kelly, and their daughters Lexie and Lindy; and her daughter, Marquita Draper of Ozark, MO, and her husband Tim, and their sons Logan and Landon; and her sisters Debbie Frazer of Arizona, and Janice Miller of Ozark, MO.
Susie’s stepfamily includes Paul Atkinson, his wife Amy, and their children Dylan, Charlie and Eva of Denver, CO; and Steven Michael Atkinson, his wife Jean, and their son Joshua, of Charleston, SC.
She had an unwavering faith in Jesus and an immense love for her family! We find comfort knowing she is with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Currently, Susie was a member of Evangel Temple in Springfield, MO. Throughout her life she was a member of Ozark Assembly of Ozark, MO; Peace Chapel of Fair Grove, MO; and Sunnyvale in Fair Grove, MO.
Times spent at (Susie’s) Nana’s house were marked by love, laughter, and contentment. Nana was famous for her delicious meals and pies, extraordinary table decorations, and her insistent desire to spoil her children and grandchildren. She will be forever missed for her contagious laughter, mac-n-cheese, sweet pickles, feisty attitude, HUGE heart, and her love for everyone. She lit of a room when she walked in!
Her love for Jesus, laughter, and kindness will live on in her children and grandchildren!
Visitation for Susie will be 5:00 ~ 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Services at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 at the funeral home with burial at Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
