T.W. Loney, age 78, of Springfield, MO (formerly Marshalltown, IA), passed away at Mercy Hospital on December 27, 2022. He was born in Marshalltown on December 21, 1944, and graduated High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, before starting a career as a successful entrepreneur in heavy equipment sales and service (Professional Lift Truck) for over 30 years. He was united in marriage to Zonetta L. Loney (Rowden) in Springfield, MO on June 1st, 1977. T.W. was raised within the Baptist denomination. He did volunteer work and community service with; Habitat for Humanity (deconstruction), PTA, Springfield Public Schools, and 4-H. His interests included being an avid NASCAR enthusiast and a dedicated devotee to equine and animal welfare. While in the Navy he received multiple Letters of Commendation, medals, and awards, such as: the Navy Unit Commendation Bar with the Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Nira Loney and his younger sister Mary Jane Wilkening. He is survived by his wife Zonetta L. Loney (Rowden); daughter, Misty D. Loney; sons, Shane A. Loney (daughter-in- law Chelsea D. Loney) and Christopher S. Loney; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan, Kaylynn, and Parker; brothers, Hal Loney and Kent Loney; and sister, Sharon Viers.
A memorial side service will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, January 12, 2023, 11:00 am. The family ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to www.dav.org and www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org>donate.
