Terry Lyles was born Oct. 23, 1927 in Springfield, MO the son of Max and Virginia Lyles. He passed away Jan. 19, 2014 in Springfield. Terry served his country in the United States Marine Corp. as a Staff Sargent from 1944 – 1953 during the Korean War. He had many accomplishments including Rifle M-1 and pistol sharpshooter, Infantry Unit Leader. Battle engagements include Campaigns in North, South and Central Korea. Honored with four Purple Hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Max J, and John Lyles. Terry is survived by a sister Wildeana Blasi, 4 nephews: Jessie Lyles, Pat, Mike (deceased) and Tim Blasi.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
