Thomas “Tom” Edwin Jensen, age 58, of Rogersville, MO passed away Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at Cox South Hospital surrounded by his family.

Tom was born September 12, 1963, in Fresno, CA. He was the son of Edwin Jensen and Illa Tennison. Tom was united in marriage to Vickie Zimmerman on June 23, 1996 in Kearney, MO.

Tom worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for almost 29 years. He started with the department on March 28, 1988 at Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City as a Corrections Officer. He then promoted to Sergeant at Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron, promoted to Lieutenant at Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green and promoted to Captain at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe where he retired on November 30, 2016. Tom enjoyed his work with the department.

Tom loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. In the past couple of years, Tom started putting together lego sets. Him and his wife would also work on their family history together.

Survivors include his wife Vickie of the home; two sons, Chris Jensen and wife Amy, and Andrew Jensen and wife MiRanda; daughter Felicia Jensen of the home; three grandchildren, Emry, Wren and Phoenix; sister Judy Knapp and husband Jimmy; Donnia Harrington-Durbin and husband Alan; Melissa Diane Harrington; sister-in-law, Angie Harrington; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Jensen and Illa Tennison; brothers Michael Harrington and Steven Harrington.

Arrangements are being handled by Greenlawn Funeral Home, Springfield, Missouri. Service will be held at a later date.
