Thomas Potter, 61, passed away peacefully Friday, December 30 surrounded by loved ones. He was born December 28, 1955 in Springfield, Missouri to Frank “Hank” and Betty (Campbell) Potter. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School. He was employed for over 30 years at 3M in Springfield.
He enjoyed traveling, auctions, scuba diving and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid Jimmy Buffett fan who enjoyed traveling to unite with Parrotheads around the country to sing loud and proud the songs he knew by heart.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Grace; daughters Amanda (Zack Pemberton) and Alissa; grandson Kamden Pemberton; mother Betty Potter; brother Stephen Potter (Kim); sisters Peggy Hammerand (Jeff) and Linda Huffman (Roger); uncle Sam Potter; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Tom wanted his celebration of life to be just that…a celebration. His wishes were that everyone who comes to his services are dressed in tropical clothing in honor of his trip to the eternal Margaritaville. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3rd from 5p-7p at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 4th at 10am. Graveside service will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens following the service for family and close friends.
