Toby Gene Willis, age 84, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at Spring Valley Nursing Home on July 18, 2023. He was born on March 29, 1939, in Elkhead, Missouri. He graduated from Sparta High School, attended college, and then enlisted in the Navy from 1960 to 1964. After his service in the Navy, he was a factory worker at Dayco and GE, in addition to being a pastor for many years, and was affiliated with the Church of God (Holiness). He was united in marriage to Shirley Willis (Jackson) in San Diego, CA, on September 1, 1962.
He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Willis; oldest son, Dwight Willis; and brother, Danny C. Willis. He is survived by his children, Lisa Gott and Darin Willis; and grandchildren, Chelsea Gott and Lori Gott.
Toby enjoyed playing the guitar and loved to sing. He was always wanting to sing! He also loved Dr. Pepper while in the nursing home and had the staff running after a Dr. Pepper all the time.
There will be a graveside service for Toby, with full military honors, at a later date.
