It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Thomas “Tom” Lee Wilson, who left us on December 17, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on July 1, 1955, in Bolivar, MO, to Virgil and Pauline Wilson.  Tom was united in marriage to Becky Springer May 21, 1976.   Tom lived a life dedicated to family, friends, and his work as “The Coke Man” at Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co.  Retiring after 41 years from Coca-Cola he worked with his son at Show Me Petroleum for seven years.

Tom played baseball and graduated from Bolivar High School class of 73’.  “The Big Right hander” signed a professional contract to pitch for the Detroit Tigers.  He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame 2016 and most recently the Bolivar Baseball Hall of Fame 2024.  He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and spent many summer days watching the Springfield Cardinals.  He also, was the manager of the Bolivar Bozo’s fantasy baseball team of the U Draft ‘Em league for 40+ years.

He served as president of the Prairie Heights Sewer District and was instrumental in the improvements made to the sub-division.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Virgil “Pud” and Marion Pauline (Hambelton) Wilson, Lyle and Willa Vest; sisters: Mary Choate, Lena Toler, and Corky Simmons; and in-laws Bob and Jennie Springer.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Becky Wilson, and their children: Tony Wilson (Amy), Mandy Wallander (Brian “Wally”), Abby Ball (Roy), and Angel Brown (Luke); 11 grandchildren: Jaron Wiseman (Tori), Raynabeth and Mavis Wilson, Brendan and Graham Wallander, Roy Ball, II, Jayda, Jenny, and Danny Ball, and Eli and Ean Brown; three great granddaughters: Ari, Mila, and Harlyn Wiseman; Siblings: Shirley Harris, Bub Wilson (Penny), Tammy Swigert (Lonnie), Mildred Mincher (Jerry), and Michelle Clark (Harold); as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was a proud father who always put his family first, and his kindness and humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tom’s life during a visitation Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pitts Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Bolivar, MO.  Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Tom touched many lives, though he may have left us physically, his spirit and the memories we share will remain with us forever. Rest in peace, Tom (Dad & Peepa).
