Tyler James Huffman, 20, died at home (Springfield, MO) on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Ty was born on October 1, 2001 in Russellville, Arkansas to Stephanie Huffman and Wendy Rickman. He is proceeded in death by his grandmother, Linda Carol (Huffman) Wisdom. He lived with his parents in Conway, Arkansas for 18 years. Before moving to Springfield, Missouri with his mother Stephanie in 2019. He graduated from Glendale High School in 2021. He attended church at Unity of Springfield.
Ty is survived by his parents Stephanie Huffman (Alisia Huffman) and Wendy Rickman (Julie Jones). Grandparents Rick and Mandy Huffman, Don Wisdom, and Johnny and Ruth Ann Rickman; brother Keegan Rickman; stepsisters Dominique Quallo and Michelle Tallant (Matt Tallant); stepbrothers Blake Dawson (Joely Gonzales), and Collin Longest (Arianna Comerate); uncles Rick Huffman, Jr (Emme Huffman), Mark Huffman (Kim Huffman), Taylor Huffman, and Bradley Wisdom (Ariel Wisdom); Aunt Keeshia Dixon (Daniel Dixon); nephews Quincy Quallo, Carter Dawson, Pearce Dawson, Hayes Dawson and Owen Longest; niece Phoebe Tallant; beloved extended family Nancy Gallavan (Richard Gallavan),Tracy Ward, Grayson Ward, Hudson Ward, Paige Rose, Dawn Pate (David Pate), Tanya Cleveland, Megan Longest, Jill Meek (Eric Meek) and Kathy Dawson; adored caregiver and friend Maia Greiner; and beloved dogs Dee Dee, Red, Cody, Princess, and Cotton.
Ty or “TyTy” to his friends was a gentle soul. He never met a stranger. He was quick with a smile, and a hug. If you ever met him, you would never forget it. He loved adventure and was always ready to “GO”. His favorite activities were camping and boating on Lake Norfolk. He loved roller coasters and sports. He never missed a University of Central Arkansas Bears football game or Missouri State University Bears football game. He played miracle league baseball in Conway, Arkansas before moving to Springfield, MO. He loved and collected matchbox cars and was never without his beads. A superfan of the Star Wars franchise, he knew every scene by heart.
Visitation/Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 15 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Greenlawn East Funeral Home in Springfield, MO. A brief remembrance service will be part of the visitation starting at 6:15 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in honor of Tyler to the Missouri State University or the University of Central Arkansas Special Education programs. The world needs special people to love and support our beautiful children.
