Virginia ‘Maxine’ DeMott Faucett, age 94 of Springfield, Missouri, left this world to go to her forever home with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2024. Maxine was born on November 4, 1929, to Edward George DeMott and Neva Blanche Reynolds DeMott. She was the youngest of four siblings. Maxine married Ray Vernon Faucett in March, 1948. They had five children and operated a business together.
For those that knew Maxine well, knew her love of Elvis, plants, crossword puzzles, dominoes, teacups, hen and roosters ornaments, friends and family. But most of all she had a deep, strong love for Jesus! When you walked into her home you would see her Bible, worn and well used laying on her kitchen table. You would see many faces of foreign missionaries lined up on her refrigerator or bracelets promoting mission trips hung throughout her house helping her to remember to pray at all times. She supported many long-term foreign missionaries, as well as, her grandchildren going to foreign fields in China, Africa, and Mexico, and many cities throughout the United States proclaiming God’s love. Her life was a life of love and she was faithful to work in her local church teaching beginner’s and Awana’s classes.
Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.” This verse describes the character of Maxine. There was a time Maxine made a decision to follow Jesus as her Lord and Savior and on that day He clothed her with His strength and dignity which she so gracefully displayed throughout her life. Through good times and bad times she looked to the future with joy knowing that the final outcome for her would be getting to worship Jesus face to face!
We mourn the loss of our beloved Matriarch, but we are so thankful and rejoice knowing she is with Jesus forever more! Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Violet Counts; two brothers, Adrian DeMott and Paul DeMott; a son, Joseph Ray Faucett; a daughter, Barbara Lue Holcomb Green; a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Anna Holcomb; and a great-granddaughter, Karis Rose Wallace. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Charles (Leah) Faucett, David Allen (Pamela) Faucett; a daughter, Beverly Sue (John) Schmitz; grandchildren, Kimburly (Keith) Logan, Stephen Jr. (Monica) Faucett, Elisa (Nick) Hewlett, Heather (Todd) Wallace, Ericka (Brandon) Sherrer, Grant (Kazumi) Holcomb, John Schmitz, Joseph (Becky) Holcomb, Matthew (Jennica) Faucett, Joshua (Chelsea) Holcomb, Terry Green, Hannah (Tyler) Fox, Mallory (Ben) Schisler, Timothy (Aleda) Green; as well as 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends that she counted as family.
The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the Strafford Care Center staff who cared for Maxine with love and dignity the last 5 years of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family have asked to honor Maxine’s love and desire for others to hear about the love of God that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Arnold, Missouri to support families they have sent out into the world to spread the gospel; some of which are Maxine’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Please mark donations: “Missions in Honor of Maxine Faucett”
Donations can also be made to Preferred Hospice in honor of the care given to her during her last days.
