Vyrl Lavern Pember passed from death to eternal life on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 7:30 AM in Cox Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
Vyrl was born on December 12, 1937 in Ness City, Kansas. His father, Lavern Perl Pember, was a farmer and then a minister of the gospel. His mother, Vera May Burditt, was a homemaker. The oldest of five brothers, he graduated from Central Bible College and went on to pastor churches in Indiana, Ohio, Texas, Kansas, and Vancouver, Canada.
After pastoring, he worked with churches and Christian schools to raise funds for ministry projects, eventually owning his own company. Vyrl also was successful in his Melalueca marketing business. He never met a stranger and always sought to better other people’s lives through sharing the gospel and his
business acumen. Vyrl authored his book, The Power to Change.
Vyrl is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Susan Elaine Baldwin Pember; sons, Gary Lynn (Rhonda) of Wooster, Ohio; Jeremy Vyrl (Dana) of St. Augustine, Florida; Jonathan Marc of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and daughter, Michelle Renee Yeager (Michael) of Morrison, Colorado. Vyrl’s grandchildren include Mathew, Joe, and Jack Yeager; Joshua, Luke, and Samuel Pember; and Kylie, Laynie, and Lexie Pember. He is survived by his four brothers, Larry, Arlyn, Merrill, and Marvin Pember. He will be dearly missed by many in his wife’s family as well as a host of cherished friends from near and far.
When the Book of Life is opened and read, Vyrl’s name will be written there along with those he led to the Lord. To share his exuberant faith was as natural to him as breathing. Heaven’s choir has just gained a deep bass voice.
