Wha Soon Moon: A Loving Mother and Pillar of Strength.
Wha Soon Moon passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Her seven children and their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will deeply miss her unwavering love and tender devotion to her family.
As a dedicated and caring wife, she supported her husband of 44 years at every step of their journey together. He preceded her in death, February 1, 1997.
A woman of exceptional character, Wha Soon Moon found great joy in spending time with her loved ones, cherishing every moment, and creating beautiful memories. She found happiness in the simple act of family gatherings and everyday conversations. She enjoyed walks, gardening, knitting, dancing, singing, making food for her kids, and loving life!
You would often see her at the Springfield YMCA doing water aerobics and other workouts. She enjoyed spending Sunday mornings at the First Korean Presbyterian Church in Nixa, where the congregation was an extension of her family. She believed in Christ and prayed for her grandchildren through every test and quiz they had!
Moon Wha Soon’s family is incredibly grateful for the care and attention she received from the staff and residents at Springfield Villa during her time with them. So many employees came in to say their goodbyes to her in these last days. Her family would also like to extend their most profound appreciation to Regional Hospice for working closely with them to ensure Moon Wha Soon’s needs were met throughout her care. We are thankful that each person at both Springfield Villa and Regional Hospice gave the greatest gift of care and compassion.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Wha Soon’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 3 pm at Green Lawn North, 3506 N. National Ave, Springfield, MO.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate this extraordinary woman we had the privilege and honor to call 엄마, Mom!
