William Allen Reynolds passed away on March 13, 2026. Born September 4, 1949, in Laurel, Mississippi, Allen was the son of Henry and Virginia Reynolds.
Allen graduated from Leesville High School in 1968 and went on to attend Louisiana Polytechnic Institute. Allen proudly served the United States Army, including active duty during the Persian Gulf War and Bosnian Civil War and retired as a Major. He loved serving his country and continued to serve in the Army Reserve for 29 years. He met his wife, Karen, in 1971 and they were married in 1973.
Throughout his career in sales, Allen was able to blend his love of people with humor. He owned the clothing store A. Reynolds Menswear and later became a Sales Executive for Cuna Mutual (later TruStage). He particularly enjoyed visiting clients throughout multiple states, making them laugh, and occasionally taking them out for crawfish. While Allen was frequently on the road, he spent his time in the car on the phone with his family or listening to audiobooks.
As a lifelong Ole Miss fan, Allen was known to greet friends and strangers with a friendly “Hotty Toddy!” The only thing Allen loved more than Ole Miss was his family. He is survived by his wife, Karen; his children: Amanda, Sarah, and William (Natalie); and his grandson, Harrison.
A celebration of Allen’s life will be held Friday, March 27, 2026 at 9:30 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65809. A graveside service immediately following will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804. Friends and family are invited to share happy memories to celebrate Allen’s life and are encouraged to wear red or blue to honor his love of Ole Miss.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Mississippi Foundation in order to establish a scholarship endowment in memory of Allen.
