William H. Hughes
Dr. William H. Hughes, 80, Nixa, Mo., formerly of Lebanon, Mo., passed away November 5, 2009, in Missouri Veterans Home, in Mt. Vernon. He was born October 13, 1929. William graduated in 1958 from the University of Missouri – Columbia, with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. He was a veterinarian in Lebanon, Mo. and retired after 32 years of service. On February 16, 1960, in Lebanon, William was united in marriage to Vicky Weaver. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Hughes; three children, Dr. Steve (Yvette) Hughes, Springfield, Mo., Kathy (Don) Lorino, St. Louis, Mo., and Pati Richardson, Tulsa, Okla.; and seven grandchildren. Graveside services will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home East. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greene County Humane Society.
