Attending grandpa's funeral was emotional on so many levels. Seeing the community come out and support him with his family was incredibly touching. Seeing family who haven't seen each other in decades was heart warming and made me realize I need to do better at keeping in touch with family. Grandpa, I was always so busy and focused on what was going on up here in STL that I didn't take the time to come visit you. It has been years since I saw you and this is one of my biggest regrets. But reading and hearing how you had impacted others filled my heart. I was reminiscing with mom and dad during the trip to Springfield about my first real memory of you. It was after you moved back to Springfield from St. Charles and you had the first christmas tree I had ever seen with all blue lights. I was mesmerized by it! I would lay under the tree and scoot up as close as I could to the center and look up at all the blue lights while listening to you and mom and dad talk. I remember when you would offer us water when we would visit and ask what kind of water we wanted because you had many types: rain water, toilet water, and you would just go down the list of silly types of water. You were always good for a laugh and a hug. I love you grandpa.

Thinking of you granddad, and the time we spent at your house when we were younger. Though they may have caused some exasperation, your early morning birthday calls will surely be missed.

Dad, There are many good memories I have with as my dad; my fondest younger family memory was when you took us on our family outings to Blanchette Park in the summers to ride down the hills on our wheeled sled which the neighbor kids envied and all wanted to join in. My next best have been out chats with you sitting in your recliner, like Grandad Budd used to, and I'd listen to your stories intently, and then share mine. I loved our visits, especially when you got excited to see me driving again! At 95 you were still sharp enough to be at me at tic tac toe, again & again!! I love you Dad today & forever! ❤️ I will see you again in Heaven! ✝️📜 Until then, a Big Hug & a Kiss!😘❤️ Beverly
