Willie Jackson, 86, of Republic, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home. Willie was born on January 8, 1931 in Coldwater, Mississippi to Ollie and Lizzie Mae Jackson. He was their only child.
Willie was an army veteran, who served in the Korean War. Willie was very proud of the time he spent serving his country and loved to share this with all.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Lizzie. He is survived by two sons, Benjamin Jackson and James Eric Jackson, both of Republic; three daughters, Deshawna Tobin of California, Loraina Jackson of California, Laquinta Johnson of Nevada, and Hope Jackson, Micheal Jackson and Mark Jackson of Nevada; fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Willie will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a service following at 1:00 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow on Monday, May 1, at 10:00 AM at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery. Timothy Lee will be officiating, with Frederick Howard speaking. Nancy Barge will be singing at Willie’s service.
Willie’s family invites all to a reception in Willie’s honor at Drury O’Reilly Center, where they would like to visit and remember his life on Saturday after the funeral service.
