Winnona Fay Woods

Winnona Fay Woods of Neosho, MO passed away on July 10, 2025, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Winnona was the daughter of Dwight Mackie and stepmother Martha. She was born on January 31, 1925, in the state of Michigan. Winnona was united in marriage to Allen Woodrow Woods on September 12, 1947, in Center Line Macomb, Michigan, United States. They shared 52 years of marriage until Allen’s untimely death in 1999. The couple was blessed with two children, Fay Ann and Dwight Woods.
Winnona was employed with the Zenith company working the production line, but her best work was being a loving mother to her children. Winnona was a true believer in our lord Jesus Christ and faithfully attended church at the Community of Christ. She loved reading the bible.
She is preceded in death by her husband Allen, son Dwight, grandson Shawn Woods and great grandchildren Levi and Hunter.
She will be remembered by a huge family that adored her. Her legacies include her daughter Fay Ann Ballard married to Ben, Grandson Joe Ussery his wife Tonja, Granddaughter Joyce Ussery ,her husband Don, Grandson Jason Ballard his wife Erika, Grandson Allen Ballard his wife Savannah, Grandson Eilliot Ballard, Grandson Jared Ballard his wife Victoria, Grandson Garet Ballard, Grandson Jack Ballard, Granddaughter Cindel Medlin her husband Bryce, Grandson Loyde Ballard his wife Jessie, Grandson Preston Ballard his wife Shannon, Granddaughter Flo Ballard, Granddaughter Desiree Ballard and partner Cory, Granddaughter Bethany Ballard, Granddaughter Nikki Ballard, Granddaughter Brooklyn Ballard, Granddaughter Kerrie Sanchez, Grandson Justin Woods, Granddaughter Amy Woods, along with 46 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ussery, Jason Ballard, Jared Ballard, Allen Ballard, Don Hance, and Bennett Ballard.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO on Tuesday July 15 at 11:00 AM.
