Zelma “Tiny’ Becker, 97, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away May 25, 2021 peacefully in her home.
The funeral service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home on May 29, 2021 at 1 p.m. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow the funeral at Morrisville cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Greenlawn Funeral Home.
Zelma was born to Lucy and Ralph Boyd on July 23, 1923 in Morrisville, MO. She graduated from Halfway High School in 1941. After high school graduation she lived in Tulsa, OK during the war years with her sister Evelyn.
Tiny was Married to Howell Gordon Becker on May 26, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kansas.
Zelma was a hard worker. She worked for many years at Missouri Home Life Insurance Company. She also was a cook for Springfield Public Schools at Glendale High School. She retired from Reyco Industries after more than 15 years where she held positions as a timekeeper and also as a steel buyer.
Zelma is survived by her daughter Judith Miner (Johnson nee Becker), her son-in-law Mitchell Miner, her grand-daughter Jessica Johnson, many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Wesley Morton and sister-in-law Ann Becker along with many friends.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Juanita McGee, Dorsey Virginia Woodmansee, Laurence Lebow Boyd, Charles Leon Boyd and William Ralph Boyd, and by her husband Howell Gordon Becker.
She lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and happiness. She built a glorious family and filled her time with things she loved, such as her garden, bowling, bird watching and attending church regularly. She lived her life the way God intended, with grace, unconditional love, warmth, and a forgiving heart.
