Mike and I would like to express how sorry to read about Dr. Sewell’s passing but rejoice in the fact that he was welcomed with open arms by our Lord & Savior! We were privileged to be students in Dr. Sewell’s Bible classes at Baptist Bible College. His teaching was full of knowledge and inspiration and his testimony was one of example to us. He was our favorite Bible teacher at Baptist Bible College the whole 4 years we were there…. One we will never forget!

I loved Doc . He taught me ..He was a blessing to me. I attended Park Crest Baptist Church. I Graduated in 91. Would never accomplished this without Doc. My favorite memory was when his wife came into the room and he would say yes dear no dear. I loved him . Thank you Lord for his life.

There was no better Christian example than Dr. Sewell. We cherish and appreciate the time and effort he and Linda poured into our marriage and family during our years at Park Crest Baptist Church. May all of us have as fervent and passionate Christian testimony during our time on this earth as he did. God's blessings to Linda and the entire family.

During the 1970s in Springfield, Dr. Sewell became a friend of mine. I also took a class from him. He was hands down the absolute best teacher at BBC. He was very dedicated to teaching. Dr. Sewell was a caring, compassionate Christian. He was intellectually curious, and very intellectually astute. As I moved several states away in 1980, I had not seen him in many years. But he will always be my friend. He was an all-around great guy. My condolences to Linda and all the family. You will be in mine and Winnice's prayers. Our love to all of you.

Mrs Linda Sewell and family. Dr. James (pastor) was a big inspiration to me and my family. Shortly after we became members at Noble Hill, Pastor Sewell and I had lunch and he asked me "have you ever thought about being a pastor". I responded "I can even convince my son the Jonah was swallowed by a big fish, not a whale". He just laugh but later, though his preaching and pastoring, I accepted that call into ministry. Wish I could of had more time with him. His wisdom and inspiration is alive in the ministry where God has placed me. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with me.
