Debra Rae Jones, 69, of Springfield, MO, (formerly of Manson/Marshalltown/Cedar Rapids) died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, of complications from heart valve replacement surgery. She was born January 31, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa. The daughter of the late Lorene and Ray Wallace, her body was cremated, and her life will be celebrated during a private gathering of immediate family.
A treasured wife, mother, grandmother sister and aunt, she is survived by her husband, Dale Jones of Springfield; daughter, Melanie (Paul) Lusk of Springfield; son, Matt Hanus of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister, Margie Bloomcamp of West Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Jeff (My) Wallace of San Jose, Calif.; grandchildren, Maddie and Jack Lusk of Springfield; five nephews and a niece; and Chica, her beloved sun Conure.
She was a gifted teacher, accomplished musician and creative crafter. Possessing a high level of critical thinking skills, she had a voracious appetite for all things scientific and was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.
