Judy Kay Jewell, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2026. She was born on November 8, 1946, to the late Frank and Opal James.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Judy dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Clifton Duane Jewell. The pair had lived in Springfield since 1973. Together, they shared a lifetime of cherished memories, especially their trips to Stockton Lake, where Judy loved nothing more than camping by the water and relaxing with a fishing pole in hand.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and attended Sunset Church of Christ for the last 21 years.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Opal James; her sisters, Betty Lohar and Mary Ann Strong; her son, Jerry Jewell; and her granddaughter, Kristy.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of love and family. Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Cliffton Dwayne Jewell; her daughter, Kanda Valentine of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a sprawling, blessed family that includes many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Judy’s warmth, gentle heart, and love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford, MO. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 29th at 2:00pm at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
