Albert (Al) Moon of Branson, MO passed away peacefully on Aug 20, 2022, at the age of 96.
Albert was born March 1, 1926 in East St. Louis, IL to Edythe and Joseph Moon. Upon graduation from high school Albert was awarded a full scholarship at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where he graduated from with a degree in engineering. Albert then served two years in the United States Navy Pacific theater during World War II. Albert returned to the St. Louis region after the war to work.
Albert married his best friend and love of his life on December 28, 1967, Donna Moon. The couple came up with the idea to buy a resort in Missouri, but plans fell thru with the first place and a new resort by the name of Cedars Resort (located on Stormy Point) near Branson, MO came open to buy. They purchased the business in 1973 and ran it until 1981. Albert was offered a new position with Ozark Mt Bank (now Central Bank) where he was involved in economic and business development in the Branson area. Al became known as the main person for the Branson/Hollister area in pioneering economic and business development for the area. Along this path Albert served on a lot of boards including board of alderman in Branson as well as became friends with a lot of business leaders and politicians of the area. Besides work and love for the Branson area both Al and Donna loved fishing and were avid fishermen for years which found them living in their home on the banks of Lake Taneycomo for years. In addition, Albert and Donna shared a love for jazz and swing music as well as dancing.
Surviving of Albert is his daughter Alice Ann Moon-Fanelli of Eastford, CT. He is also survived by his best friend and spouse in Donna Moon.
