It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Albert Leroy Williams, who departed this life peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 11, 1942, in Sentinel, Missouri, Albert lived a full and dedicated life, reinforcing the strength of family and friendship in all that he did.
Albert took pride in his role as a maintenance worker at the state park, where he dedicated many years of his life to ensuring that nature’s beauty was accessible to all. His hands were calloused from hard work, but his heart was warm and welcoming to all who crossed his path. When Leroy wasn’t working, he was happiest outdoors-kicking through the fields for arrowheads, hunting turkeys, or simply enjoying the land he loved.
A loving father, Albert is survived by his son, Allan Williams; daughter, Dawn Smith; and son, Beau Williams & step-son Pete Burton. He cherished each moment spent with his children, imparting lessons of integrity, perseverance, and love that will undoubtedly carry on through their lives. Albert’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be remembered for his gentle spirit and unwavering support.
To honor Albert’s life, a series of services will be held. A visitation will take place at the Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Homes on July 20, 2026, beginning at 5:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to share their memories and celebrate a life well-lived. The funeral service will follow on July 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Pittsburg Missionary Baptist Church providing an opportunity for reflection and remembrance.
In this time of sorrow, we ask that you keep Albert’s family in your thoughts and prayers, as they navigate their loss and honor the legacy left by a remarkable man. Albert Leroy Williams will remain in our hearts, a beacon of kindness and wisdom, guiding us even in his absence.
Albert was preceded in death by: Rose (Sandy) Wiliams, George R. Williams, Mary Jane Williams, Janath Crow, Bobby Williams and Cindy Ramsey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pittsburg Missionary Baptist Church.
