Aleiyah Diane Smith, age 17, of Willard, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020. She was born on February 12, 2003 in Springfield, Missouri to Andrew Smith and Lisa Smith. Aleiyah had passion and love for many things in her life, however her main passion was family and music. There are many memories of blasting music with her family and friends while they hung out, prepared meals or just enjoyed the day. It was said that she could read the minds of her loved ones and play the exact song or music they needed. No matter what was going on in her day, Aleiyah wanted to make sure that those around her were taken care of. She brought this same care to her job as assistant teacher at Smart Start Daycare.
Aleiyah had a love for art, binge watching “The Vampire Diaries” series, play fighting with her family, and other things you can’t put on paper. She was on her way to graduate from Willard High School in the Spring of 2021 and will be honored in the upcoming ceremonies. Aleiyah had many beloved and cherished friends at school but was lucky enough to find her first love in her boyfriend Jaylon. She also had a very special relationship with her late grandmother Donna Asbury. The two were inseparable as Aleiyah was growing up and were often referred to as twins.
Aleiyah is preceded in death by her grandmother Donna; great-grandparents Leo and Lois Ross; great-grandpa Lewis Smith and many other family members from the Smith Clan. She is survived by her parents Andrew and Lisa; brother, Nathan Sneed; sisters, Savannah Smith and Chealsea Lechner; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
She will be remembered for the belly rubs given to her sister Chealsea who is expecting, the many hours putting on makeup in the high school bathroom, the jello cups eaten, and the rivers and creeks visited with her brother Nathan.
The family would like to thank all of Aleiyah’s friends that have helped them through this difficult time, with a special thanks to Alexis Greene for sharing in the many vacations and family memories.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home North with graveside to follow.
