Aleta Climer, age 81, of Springfield, MO, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Maranatha Village. She was born December 6, 1929, to William and Edna (Endley) Wilson.
She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, Springfield.
She was an avid angel collector, was affectionately known as the Pie Lady at church, and loved her rose garden. Her love of God, family, and numerous friends at church were the most important things in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Rev. Edward Climer; an infant daughter; brothers, Robert, Bernie, and Richard Wilson; and sister, Cleta Bosley.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Climer, and Kay Abney and husband, Roy, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Melissa Ray, Rebecca Lyon, Ryan Climer, and Mathew Climer; great-grandchildren, Haley and Katie Ray, James and Jacob Ray, Austin Lyon, Hayden and Logan Climer, and Taylor Arcidinio; brothers, Gene, Rod, and Rex Wilson; sister, JoAnn Coltrane; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A special thank you to the staff of Maranatha Village, especially Mary Helen, for the kind and compassionate care given to Aleta during her stay.
Funeral services will be held in the First Freewill Baptist Church at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 with Rev. Alvin Hook officiating. Burial will follow in Little Vine Cemetery, Grovespring, Mo. Visitation will be Monday, April 25 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
