Alice Elizabeth “Betty” Stroud Hoagland, was born August 22, 1926, in Trenton Nebraska. At age 2 she moved to rural Webster County, MO with her parents, Earl A. and Sybil (McDonald) Stroud.
Betty graduated from Marshfield High School and married Dale Hoagland in 1944, they moved to Springfield where she lived until her death. She was a medical assistant for Dr. Kenneth Knabb and other physicians for many years. Betty was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Greene County Medical Secretaries and Assistants.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Betty is survived by a sister, Elaine Crabtree; a special niece, Cira Susan Crabtree; her children Ian and Sam Link; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
