Allan Lyle Roach was born June 8, 1936 in Troy Grove, IL, son of Wyman and Minnie (Galloway) Roach. He married Doris (Barnhill) on October 10, 1959, and they were happily married 56 years. Al served in the Air Force and traveled the world. He was not a stranger to anyone, and he was known for his love of family and friends, as well as his ornery, contagious laugh. Allan was lovingly called “Chief” or “Big Al” by the many friends he made over the years while showing cattle with his kids and grandkids, as well as his close church family at Brookline Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Leroy and Betty (Hunter).
Allan is survived by his loving wife, Doris; a son, Matthew (Sandra) and their children Chelsea and her son Corbin, Kaylee, and Karlee; a daughter Vichelle (Muly) and their children Asri and Adinda; a daughter Marsha Gillett (Bryan) and their children Allan-Michael, Ashley, and Noah; a daughter Malynne Atkinson (Bob) and their children Erica, Cole, and Kennedy,; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Brookline Church of Christ, 3086 N. Brookline Ave., Brookline, MO. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will be Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood, Springfield, MO. Because of his generosity through the years, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home.
