Alma Nadine Carsten, born March 13, 1927 in Miller, MO to the late Olan and Ethel (Prater) Lampkin, passed away on August 18, 2010 at the age of 83.
Alma was united in marriage to Herbert Carsten on March 29, 1956. He preceded her in death in 2008. She enjoyed knitting and belonged to a group that knitted the little hats, booties and blankets for Cox South preemie unit. Alma was a member of Seminole Baptist Temple.
Survivors include her loving daughter Karen Glenn of Springfield; two grandchildren, MSG Dan Burky and fiancée Helen of Ansbach, Germany and Diana Burky of Springfield; stepson Jerry Carsten of Branson; sister Deloris Wilkerson and husband Gene of Miller; two sisters-in-law, Paula Carsten of Springfield and Gloria Lampkin of Echo, OR; stepson-in-law Roy Lea of Springfield; numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Wendell Lampkin and stepdaughter Elizabeth Lea.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn South Funeral Home with burial to follow in Jones Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
