Alton “Shorty” Moyers, age 73, passed away on November 21, 2013 in his home in Billings, MO. He was born on August 10, 1940 in Patton, MO to Charles and Dean Moyers. He attended Esther High School. He served his country in the United States Navy. Shorty worked in the grocery business, but his favorite job was entertaining in the music business. He owned and performed on The Ozark Country Jubilee also performing on Lee Mace’s Ozark Opry and The Ozarks Jubilee. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Republic, MO and he was also a Mason and Shriner. His hobbies include; music, boating, fishing, traveling and classic cars restoration. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Jr. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Roe) Moyers whom he married August 11, 1961 in Farmington, MO. Also surviving is his children, D.J. and his wife Katie, David, Darrin Sr. and Denise and her husband Mark, 6 grandchildren and 1 on the way and 9 great-grandchildren, his brother’s wife, Sandy and sister’s Linda and her husband Jerry and Carolyn and her husband Ed. Funeral service’s will be on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South with visitation 1 hour prior to service starting at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, Mo.
