Angelina Marie Anderson, born February 4, 1972, in Denver, Colorado, lost her battle with diabetes and end‑stage kidney failure on July 24, 2026, surrounded by her family whom she loved deeply. She grew up in Colorado and married George “Chano” Ponce in 1999; together they shared one son, Michael.

Angelina was the kind of person who met the world exactly as it was and never pretended to be anything other than her true self. She was honest to a fault, unafraid to speak the truth even when it was hard, and she carried a strength that everyone around her could feel. Her will was unmatched, her spirit unbreakable, and she faced every challenge in her life with the heart of a fighter. Those who knew her understood that her loyalty was fierce, her love was genuine, and her presence was as real as it gets.

She had a love for all animals, but most of all she had a passion for horses beginning at age six, and she even dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She rescued many animals over the years, horses, cats, dogs, and even snakes. She liked Chevy trucks but had respect for classic cars in general, especially old Lincoln Town Cars. She loved opera and was a fan of Pavarotti. She also listened to country music but enjoyed all good music. She loved movies and TV shows, especially JAWS, Tombstone and Star Trek; you could call her a proud Trekkie with a soft spot for Jean‑Luc Picard, and she knew every line in JAWS by heart she would also often quote lines from JAWS and even 1993s Tombstone.

Her love for her family and her faith gave her strength through a long battle with diabetes and kidney disease. She prayed daily and trusted fully in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Angelina was preceded in death by her mothers, Deborah M. Anderson and Delores Anderson; her uncles Clint Welch, Roy Hall, Patrick, Michael, and Timothy McCormick; and her great‑uncle Bill and great‑aunt Lois Cook.

Angelina is survived by her husband, George “Chano” Ponce; her son, Michael Ponce; her father, Ray Anderson; Brady Coats and Antonia Coats, whom she called brother and sister; her father‑in‑law, Feliciano Marin Sr.; her mother‑in‑law, Theresa L. Ponce; Phylis Phillips; Susan Coats; Joey Coats; Joseph McCormick; Phillip Sainz; Marie Hall; Chris and John Fuentes and family; Kevin and Aunt Lynn Schutz; Carol and John Francka and family; Michael and Chere’ Lundberg and family; and many other extended family and friends.

As part of her faith, Angelina was fond of quoting 1 John 4:4: “…greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”
